"Släkten har sitt ursprung i Håtuna församling, där NILS ERICI SUNDELIUS var kyrkoherde. En av hans söner flyttade upp till Nora Socken i Ångermanland. Denne NILS SONDELL blev anfader för Norrlands grenen. Övriga syskon tycks ha hållit sig i Uppland och Stockholms-trakten. Det är tydligt att denna släkt var ett rikt och intelligent folk, eftersom så många var belästa och innehade många olika typer av tjänster. De förekommer ofta som präster."

English translation: "The family originated in Håtuna community, where NILS ERICI SUNDELIUS was parish priest. One of his sons moved up to the Nora parish in Ångermanland. This NILS SONDELL became the ancestor of the Norrland branch. Other siblings seem to have remained in the Uppland and Stockholm area. It is clear that this family were rich and intelligent people, because so many were well-read, and held many different types of services. They are often found as priests."
